Dec. 14th
2007: McLaren signed Heikki Kovalainen as their offical race driver for 2008 Season.

Dec. 4th
2007: German A1GP champion Nico Hulkenberg, Estonian F3 driver Marko Asmer, Spainish GP2 driver Villa had their F1 debut in Jerez test. Nico was testing with Williams and the latter two drivers were testing for BMW.

Dec. 6th
2007: 7 World Champion Michael Schumacher was back again and testing for Ferrari in Jerez. He set the 8th fastest lap that day. On the same day, Renault was found guilty but not punished by WMSC, which ended the spy case between Renault and McLaren.

Dec. 7th
2007: Michael Schumacher was testing for Ferrari on Jerez and set the 4th fastest lap that day with slicks and 2009-level downforce (which is an almost 30% decrease in downforce). Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Vettel topped the time sheet. On the same day, FIA announced that starting from 2008 the teams will be restricted on the use of wind tunnel. And further restrictions on rig tests, design and manufacturing, suspension and brakes, hydraulic systems, bodywork, weight distribution, circuit testing and the number of personnel at races are expected to be announced soon.

Dec. 10th
2007: Renault F1 team announced that 2-time World Champion Fernando Alonso will be partnered by Piquet Jr. to be the drivers of 2008 F1 season. Welcome home, Fernando!
Besides, Willi Weber told SPORT BILD that his protege Nico Hulkenberg will become the test driver for Williams F1 team next year. He also mentioned that the contracted would be officially signed by Christmas.

Dec. 13th
2007: Williams announced a test driver contract with Nico Hulkenberg in 2008.
McLaren apologized for using Ferrari’s data to FIA and Ferrari. FIA decided to close the spy case while Ferrari would continue the legal action.
